The Colbert Report show intro...

If you missed the show today, I was talking about the theme song for a show on the comedy channel, The Colbert Report. Anywayyyyyy... I have always loved this particular theme song and have finally worked out why- it's by Cheap Trick. I promised on air that I would track it down for you, and here it is... It's only a small snippet but you will get the gist! Dano.

Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) covers a George Harrison song

Yusuf Islam, the singer formerly known as Cat Stevens, has collaborated with Beatles associate Klaus Voormann on a cover of George Harrison's 1973 song 'The Day The World Gets Round'. Below is a sample of the song, but if you'd like to download the full version, simply head to iTunes. We think it's definitely worth downloading... plus all proceeds go to charity (this means you can enjoy the track at the same time as being charitable - sounds good to us!)

'BUSHFIRE AID - Artists for the Bushfire Appeal' CD

Our good mates at Sony Music are supporting the Victorian Bushfire Appeal by releasing a special CD called “BUSHFIRE AID – Artists for the Bushfire Appeal”.

Many of our musician friends have generously donated their songs and royalties to help the appeal. BUSHFIRE AID – Artists For The Bushfire Appeal features twenty songs, among them tracks from a few of our Homegrown Heroes like Midnight Oil and the Hoodoo Gurus, as well as John Farnham and guys like Bruce Springsteen and Billy Joel. Proceeds from the sale of the CD will go to the Salvation Army Bushfire Appeal through The Sony Foundation.

BUSHFIRE AID – Artists For The Bushfire Appeal will be in stores from the beginning of next week so as our mate Molly used to say, "do yourself a favour"... and buy yourself a copy.

Jaoquin Phoenix on David Letterman

Check out this video of Jaoquin Phoenix (Walk The Line, Gladiator) on David Letterman.. We have been debating all day about whether this is a publicity stunt (besides he is an actor after all) or whether he really is nuts? See it for yourself and let us know what you think.

Jono's new reading glasses... To ban or not to ban?

Jono has a fetish for cheap crappy glasses (the ones you can buy in servos and at the airport). I managed to get a pic of him parading his latest pair around the office (I clearly have too much time on my hands). Personally, I think he looks like an old sad algebra teacher (and that's not a good thing). What are your thoughts? Perhaps if enough of us object to his daggy glasses fashion sense- he will get the message? Dano

Some of Australia’s most legendary artists will be joined by leading International and Domestic chart-toppers. In alphabetical order, the line-ups are:

Melbourne: Augie March, Bliss N Eso with Paris Wells, Gabriella Cilmi, Hunters & Collectors, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson with Troy Casssar-Daly, Jack Johnson, Jet, Kings Of Leon, Liam Finn, Midnight Oil, Paul Kelly, Split Enz and Wolfmother.

Sydney: Coldplay (acoustic), Eskimo Joe, Hoodoo Gurus, Icehouse, Jet, Josh Pyke, Little Birdy, The Presets, Wolfmother, You Am I and more acts to be announced.

Tickets are $75 and will go on sale from Ticketek 132 849 www.ticketek.com.au on Wednesday March 4, 2009 at 9am.  100% of the profits from the Melbourne concert will be donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

For the Sydney concert 50% of the profits will be donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal and 50% will be donated to The Premier's Disaster Relief Fund Appeal in QLD to aid the victims of the Queensland floods.

It's a great idea and we're right behind it - we hope you will be too.

Pat Cash is no stranger to the strings of a Tennis Racquet, or that of a guitar... In fact he's performed with INXS! So we thought we'd find him an electric guitar and play 'Jono and Dano beat the intro'... and he's not bad for a former Wimbledon winner!
